Awareness Campaigns on Sexual Abuse, Substance Abuse and Human Trafficking

It was yet another opportunity to enlighten the Junior class at C.A.C Comprehensive High School in Ado-Ekiti. We joined with Capstone Mission NGO and other stakeholders to educate 350 students (182 males and 168 females) and 7 teachers about human trafficking, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, cybercrime, and the risks of premarital sex.

Mr. Femi Akeju, a representative from NAPTIP, elaborated on human trafficking, including the tactics traffickers employ and ways to avoid victimization. Meanwhile, Mrs. Omolarami Awelewa discussed the repercussions of premarital sex.

Mr. Akinwole Tolulope Asirioluwa used audiovisual materials to address issues like rape, substance abuse, premarital relationships, and cybercrime, ultimately guiding the students towards Christ.

The session also featured one-on-one and group counseling, offering psychosocial support to the students. Informational materials on human trafficking were distributed as well.

Early awareness of these social issues is vital for adolescents, empowering them to make informed choices about their lives.
