2nd Annual Child and Society Conference
Our executive director, Dowole Gold Moyinoluwa , recently attended the 2nd Annual Child and Society Conference & Award #CSCA2024 in Lagos. The conference, held on the 26th and 27th of February, focused on the theme “Future of the Nigerian Child: Hopeful or Hopeless.” As the state secretary of the Ekiti chapter of the Child Protection Network, she represented the chapter alongside the state coordinator.
This conference served as a platform for child protectors from all 36 states in Nigeria, as well as stakeholders from various backgrounds, to come together. It provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing and exchange, with discussions revolving around issues concerning children and the provision of practical solutions. The conference also addressed alternative care options for street-connected children, highlighting the importance of finding suitable solutions for their well-being.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Commissioner of Lagos State Ministry for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Christabel Omoh Ekwu, the Commissioner of Edo State Ministry for Social Development and Gender Issues, Mr. Dennis representative from UNICEF, the representative International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Mrs. Anthonia Ojenagbon, the founder of Tonia, Bruise but not Broken.
The conference emphasized the importance of safeguarding children and reiterated the commitment to ensuring their well-being. It served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to protect and nurture the future generations of Nigeria.
