Female Genital Mutilation Campaign

The Anti-FGM Club for Teachers

Today’s Anti-FGM Club for Teachers on #EndFGM at All Saints Nursery and Primary School teachers at Odo- Oja, Ikere-Ekiti.

In continuance of the capacity development training on #EndFGM for primary school teachers in Ikere and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas, Ekiti.

Teachers have a crucial role to play in ending female genital mutilation by being education influencers. They have a direct impact on pupils/students and can easily pass down knowledge.

We believe school curriculum review starts from this enlightenment; school can’t teach everything however gradually there will be a necessity for female genital mutilation to be included in the school curriculum. Before then, the knowledge received will be passed to the pupils/students either directly or indirectly in the school environment which will enhance the student’s awareness of FGM.

Thank you The New Generation Girls & Women Development Initiative (NIGAWD) UNFPA Nigeria UNFPA for your support in the implementation process of the Anti-FGM Club for Teachers #TACT Project.

Together we put an end to #FGM
