Capacity Building Training on Gender-Based Violence Case Reporting and Management

Our team lead (Moyinoluwa Ogundowole) participated in a two-day training on Gender-Based Violence Case Reporting and Management for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Vanguard, organized by Balm in Gilead Foundation for Sustainable Development with support from @Nigeriawomentrustfund and @fordfoundation, held 12th_13th December 2022 at All Saint Conference hall Ado-Ekiti.

It was indeed a period of relearning and capacity strengthening. The two-day training includes Introduction to Gender and Gender Based Violence; Understanding Ekiti State Gender-based violence coordinating mechanism; Psychosocial support for survivors, GBV case reporting, treatment, and care; GBV legal framework and access to justice in Ekiti state, GBV case management, and community response.

Barr. Rita (one of the facilitators) mentioned โ€œJustice in GBV is not about sending perpetrators to jail, it starts from the treatment of the victim(survivors). Victims are more paramount than perpetrators. Victims should be able to access treatment and care.โ€

We appreciate @bigif for this training and this will surely strengthen our organization’s capacity as GBV service providers.
