School Awareness Program Against Child Labour

The sensitization at Divine Touch International School in Ado-Ekiti was a valuable opportunity to deepen the understanding of young people and caregivers about the issue of child labour, in commemoration of #WDACL #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour

A total of 339 students participated in the sensitization program aimed at raising awareness about the consequences of child labor.

Mrs. Ajewole Janet from Ministry of Labour delivered an insightful explanation distinguishing between child labor and light work, while Mr. Akinwole Tolulope Asirioluwa from Capstone Mission NGO used audio-visual tools to illustrate the severe impacts of child labor, particularly in relation to child abuse, including rape and sexual exploitation.

The interaction with the students was enriching. We offered both one-on-one and group counseling sessions, addressing their questions and provided guidance.

It is essential to note that while light work can positively contribute to a child’s development, hazardous work can have devastating effects. As an organization, we remain committed to advocating for children’s rights and promoting awareness to ensure a brighter future for all children.
