One-Day Dialogue with Non-State Actors on Gender Quotas and Advancing Women’s Political Participation

Our team lead, Dowole Gold Moyinoluwa participated in a One-Day Dialogue with Non-State Actors on Gender Quotas and Advancing Women’s Political Participation, organized by Balm in Gilead Foundation for Sustainable Development – BIGIF in partnership with Canadaโ€™s Foreign Policyโ€”Global Affairs Canada and UN Women, held at All Saints Conference Hall in Ado-Ekiti on February 27, 2025.

The dialogue emphasized sharing experiences of women in politics and the role of non-state actors in promoting gender quotas in Nigeria. It highlighted the ongoing challenges, including the need for legislative reforms, the passage of gender quota bills to ensure women’s representation, enhancing internal party quotas for female candidates, and establishing training and mentoring programs for aspiring women leaders.

As an organization committed to advancing women’s participation in politics, we will continue to invest in advocacy, leverage technology to promote inclusivity, and mobilize grassroots communities to support this vital cause.
