As a member of AONN Ekiti State, we commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child at United High School in Ilawe-Ekiti. During the event, our main focus was to raise awareness about gender-based violence and promote proper menstrual hygiene management among the students.

Our team representatives conducted a session to sensitize the students on the importance of maintaining good menstrual hygiene. Ademoroti Esther Hadassah discussed various aspects such as the proper use and disposal of sanitary pads, the significance of regular hygiene practices during menstruation, and the potential health risks associated with poor menstrual hygiene.

As part of our initiative, we distributed 50 sanitary pads to the girls in order to support their menstrual needs. Additionally, we provided 50 bathing soaps to the boys, emphasizing the importance of overall personal hygiene.

The event aimed to empower the students with knowledge and resources to ensure their well-being and promote gender equality. By addressing the issues of gender-based violence and menstrual hygiene management, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all students at United High School Ilawe-Ekiti.

11th October 2023.
