As students in Ekiti return to school this week, we kicked off our school-based prevention programs. Earlier today, in collaboration witj Cedars for Human Welfare Initiative we welcomed the students of the Jacflorie Group of Schools in Ado-Ekiti with a sensitization program focused on child abuse reporting pathways and proper menstrual hygiene management, including a demonstration on how to make reusable pads and use sanitary pads effectively.

The program saw the participation of 88 students, comprising 36 males and 52 females, as well as 7 teachers. Our team encouraged the students to maintain a healthy hygienic routine and report any form of child abuse through their teachers and our schoolโ€™s anti-SGBV champions.

The students were happy to see us and expressed their eagerness to have us visit regularly as usual. It was a valuable time spent with the students, and we are glad to have had the opportunity to engage with them on these important topics as the new academic year begins.
