Southwest Region Stakeholders Forum on Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSBs) and Public Health
As an organization that provides nutritional support for vulnerable children and caregivers. Our team lead participated in the one-day “Southwest Region Stakeholders Forum on Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSBs) and Public Health” and Public Health, held at L’eloa Conference hall, Lagos, organized by @cappafrica with support from @incubatorghai .
Gaining an enhanced understanding of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is leverage to improve our work at @goldheart_foundation , especially in the aspect of nutritional support we provide for vulnerable children & caregivers. It will also help our intervention and advocacy in limiting the high consumption of SSBs, hence, reducing the burden of SSBs consumption on public health.
As civil society organizations (CSOs), our role is to ensure SSBs industries reduce the sugar content in beverages through advocacy, ensure we advocate for an increase in SSBs tax, promote healthy living, and educate the populace on the impact of SSBs consumption.
We appreciate you, The Corporate Accountability & Public Participation Africa (CAPPA), and the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI). It was an enlightening and engaging session.
