Capacity Development

Our executive director Dowole Gold Moyinoluwa participated in a Two-Day Workshop for Working Group, CSOs & Media on Advance Women’s Political Participation (WPP) in Ekiti State. The workshop was organized by Balm in Gilead Foundation for Sustainable Development – BIGIF with funding from Canada’s Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada through the UN Women Nigeria. It was held at the All Saints Guest House Conference Hall, Petim Estate Adehun, Ado Ekiti on July 29th and 30th, 2024.

The workshop featured passionate facilitators from various spheres of the development sector, including Mrs. Dunni Riches, Mr. Nelson Akerele, Barr. Oluwatoba Olaifa, and Mr. Festus Ojewumi. They discussed crucial topics such as: Conducting Successful Advocacy for Women Political Participation; Community Organizing & Grassroot Mobilization for WPP; Effective Messaging for WPP and the Role of the Media; Gender Responsive Legislation for Advance Women’s Political Participation; Violence Against Women in Politics; Prevention & Response

The participants engaged in insightful and engaging conversations, and developed priority issues and action plans to address the challenges faced by women in political participation.

We recognized the urgent need for early response and intervention to ensure a high turnout of women participating in politics. As an organization, we will continue to amplify our voice through community mobilization, engagement, and empowerment of women to advance their political participation.

We are grateful to BIGIF for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of this important event.
