Menstrual Hygiene Day
In celebration of Children’s Day and Menstrual Hygiene Day (#MHD2025), our organization, as a member of Cpn Ekiti, held a sensitization program at Doherty Memorial School in Ijero-Ekiti. The event saw the participation of 285 students, comprising 134 boys and 151 girls, along with three male staff members.
Our project officers, Pamilerin Oluwasanmi and Esther Ademoroti provided comprehensive menstrual education, addressing vital topics such as hygiene practices, the menstrual cycle, and the significance of breaking the stigma around menstruation. We emphasized the role of boys as allies in combating period shame and menstrual poverty.
The students’ feedback indicated a strong understanding of the topics discussed and highlighted the need for ongoing sensitization efforts.
We are dedicated to the education of adolescents, as it plays a vital role in promoting health and well-being. Our commitment to these initiatives in the community will continue, ensuring that all students are empowered with the knowledge they need to thrive.
