Health Awareness and Nutritional Support for Women in Ekiti

Our health advocacy educators officers provided health support to 20 women during the Gift for Love Charity Foundation food drive outreach at Temilola Ajayi Foundation-TAFWC Hall in Ado-Ekiti on 31st August 2024.
During the event, Dowole Gold Moyinoluwa sensitized the women on female genital mutilation (FGM), leading to a discussion where many shared their experiences of cultural practices influencing their decisions. They were educated on the consequences and the laws in Ekiti, prompting them to pledge against engaging in the practice.
Oreoluwa Falola and Esther Iseoluwa Oyeyemi conducted blood pressure and HIV screenings, along with providing counseling. Esther also enlightened the women on hypertension and diabetes mellitus, diseases that affect the elderly. All their inquiries were addressed, leaving them grateful for the new information.
To conclude the program, food items like rice, beans, garri, and a cash gift of #2000 were distributed, bringing joy and gratitude from the recipients who showered blessings on the organizations involved.
It was a heartwarming conclusion to the month, and we extend our appreciation to the Gift for Love Charity Foundation for their dedication to supporting the nutritional needs of vulnerable women.
