Discussing menstruation at an early stage is crucial in breaking the stigma surrounding it and fostering an open environment for young people. Early education helps girls understand their bodies, promotes confidence, and equips them to manage their menstrual health effectively.

Recently, a round-table discussion was organized with 25 young girls at Harding College in Okesa Ado-Ekiti to celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day (#wmhd2025). The event provided in-depth knowledge on various subjects, such as reproductive health, the stages of puberty, menstrual products, and effective management of menstrual symptoms. Pamphlets containing valuable information about menstruation were also handed out.

The participants actively engaged by posing questions about their menstrual journeys, and thoughtful answers were given. We express our heartfelt thanks to all our sisters NGOs for their invaluable support in making this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day a meaningful success.
