Our organization in collaboration with Disability Not A Barrier Initiative launched an awareness campaign at Doherty Memorial School in Ijero-Ekiti. The campaign focused on the importance of reducing sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and advocated for an increase in the #SSBTax.

Students expressed shock upon learning about the negative impacts of #SSB consumption, particularly its association with obesity. The sensitization program saw the participation of 285 students, comprising 134 boys and 151 girls, along with 3 male staff members.

Feedback from the students indicated a clear need for continued awareness efforts to enhance their understanding of this critical issue.
