Pad Bank Launch at Emmanual Innovation School Ijero-Ekiti

In celebration of #MenstrualHygieneDay, our organization, as a member of AONN Ekiti State, launched a pad bank at Emmanuel Innovation School in Ijero-Ekiti. During this program, we sensitized a total of 199 studentsโ€”85 males and 114 femalesโ€”along with four staff members (three males and one female).

The students received education on the importance of ensuring that sanitary pads are accessible in all locations, including schools. The establishment of a pad bank is crucial for girls, as it helps eliminate barriers to menstrual hygiene, allowing them to attend school without fear of embarrassment or disruption.

This resource empowers girls to manage their menstruation with dignity and confidence, reducing absenteeism and supporting their overall education.

Additionally, the session highlighted the significance of personal hygiene for both boys and girls and emphasized the vital role boys can play in supporting their female peers by promoting allyship to combat period poverty and the stigma associated with menstruation.

We believe that these efforts are essential in creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
