Our team representative Dowole Gold Moyinoluwa attended a one-day training workshop on disability inclusion and media accessibility. The workshop was held at Kototel Hotel in Ado-Ekiti on 11th January 2024 and was organized by the Disability Not A Barrier Initiative with funding support from the Disability Rights Fund.
During this insightful workshop, we had the opportunity to delve into a wide range of topics related to disability inclusion and media accessibility. We gained a comprehensive understanding of the concept of disability and familiarized ourselves with common terminologies used within the disability space.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the session on enhancing media accessibility, which focused on empowering inclusivity and bridging communication gaps. We also had a practical session on integrating accessibility into digital media, where we learned about the tools and techniques that enable visually impaired individuals to access online content independently.
Thanks to #DINABI, we now have a deeper understanding of screen readers and other assistive technologies that make it possible for people with visual impairments to read online. We are excited to implement what we have learned into our social media platforms and website, making our content more accessible to everyone.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to DINABI for organizing this valuable workshop and to the Disability Rights Fund for their generous funding support.
We are committed to promoting disability inclusion and ensuring that our media platforms are accessible to all. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society.
